RESUMO:

Anxiety is a normal behavior in uncomfortable situations as a defense mechanism and the ability to
deal with new situations, which can become recognized as a pathology when they are
disproportionate to the stimulus, or cause poor performance in the individual. Previous studies have
demonstrated that açaí can be considered a functional food, due to its benefits related to high
antioxidant capacity and its composition (BONOMO et al., 2014), as açaí extract is rich in
anthocyanins, presenting as an excellent natural source of antioxidant compound (Halliwell 2001;
Hogan et al., 2010). Thus, this proposal seeks to investigate whether the addition of açaí to
commercial fish food, when inserted into the diet of tambaquis bred in captivity, for subsequent
inclusion of the fillet of this fish in the diet of Wistar rats would result in better performance in
anxiety tests (Labyrinth in Elevated Cross). The general objective of this study is to investigate the
possible nutraceutical properties of tambaqui meat in a murine model of anxiety. As specific
objectives, we propose to investigate the possible nutraceutical properties of tambaqui meat on the
performance of animals in the Labyrinth at Cruz Elevado and on the body mass of the animals. This
is experimental research on male Wistar rats, which will be carried out at the University Campus of
Oriximiná Prof. Dr. Domingos Diniz, from the Federal University of Western Pará-UFOPA. The
animals will be divided into two groups (experimental and control), with ten animals each, totaling
twenty animals, which will receive different diets for a period of 30 (thirty) days. At the end of the
experiment, all animals will be tested in the Labyrinth at Cruz Elevado - LCE, with a single
exposure. The exhibition will be recorded in videos for later analysis using the EthoVision XT®
(Noldus®) software
